To further enhance your security, DigitalMaas added a multi factor authentication system to the Platform. Starting on the 16th of January, we will ask all customers to reset their passwords in order to switch to our new MFA system.
What is Multi Factor Authentication?
Commonly abbreviated to MFA, multi factor authentication requires you to prove your identity using additional proofs. An MFA gives you increased protection from cyber criminals and data leaks.
MFAs can come in the form of, but are not limited to:
- SMS
- Biometrics (face ID or fingerprint scan)
- Authenticator Apps
Any of this can be combined with something you know (your password or a security question), something you have (an authenticator app) and/or something you are (biometrics). You’ll notice this in some banking or e-wallet apps – for example, you add your PIN code or password first, and then you’ll get a text message or email for an additional passcode to put into a second login page.
MFA on the DigitalMaas Platform
You’ll be prompted to reset your password after getting a confirmation code via email. Afterwards, you can choose to turn it on to receive an additional code through SMS or an authenticator app to successfully log in. If you decide to turn it on, you will need to do this each time you log into the Platform to ensure that your account and location information are safe and secure from prying eyes.
